So yeah... I have been quiet here lately. I have been drawing and painting quite a lot but I just haven't got around posting anything but have a piece of fanart from one of my favourite book series! If you haven't read Artemis Fowl then I suggest you do if you are interested in clever writing, awesome characters and fairies with laser guns.
I honestly don't know if I like this pic or not. It's always the same when I try to draw a book character. I usually have a very well defined yet also a bit hazy picture of the characters in my head and they NEVER translate on paper as well as I'd like. I was aiming for the Eternity Code -age Artemis (13 years) but then I also realised that I haven't drawn people in their early teens in like forever so... gah! Well, Artemis has always looked sort of old and young at the same time in my head. And he's a bit creepy in this but he's supposed to be creepy so there. Also, backgrounds are my enemy againnnnnnn. I honestly wanted to draw something there but then I didn't know what. But I guess I like Artemis' skin in this one so I'm putting it here anyway. Plus it was fun to draw.

Onpa juoniva hymy. Artemis Fowl ja hänen criminal mastermind, ah. Älykkyys ja itsevarmuus välittyy tästä kuvasta. Haluaisin nähdä tämän Artemiksen vanhempana. Yritin itse piirtää omaa puolikastani meidän haasteesta muutaman kerran, mutta kuten fanartilla yleensäkin kohdallani niin sillä menee vielä vähän aikaa kypsyessä. Ja nuoria herroja on vaikea piirtää. Tässä kuvassa käsi ehkä herralla on hartioihin nähden vähän outo, mutta minusta tässä vahvuutena ilmenee tekniikka yli anatomian. Mutta toisaalta anatomiakaan ei välity niin vääränä, koska mulle tulee tosta joku taidesuuntaus mieleen. Pidän kiehtovana tuota nuoren miehenalun ja värityksen tuoman iän yhdistelmää. Tästä välittyy kokemus ja äly. Voisi olla myös mielenkiintoista jos taustalla olisi jotain hämykuvioita, kuten maahiskieltä istutettu seinätapetin kuvioksi tai jotain.. hmm, hiukan rönsyilevä kommentti mutta hopefully makes sense.
